SATURDAY 28 July – OUTING: STELLENBOSCH
We meet at 10h00 AM at Stellenbosch NG Moeder gemeente / Dutch Reformed Church at the head of Church Street to see buildings of Stellenbosch at its most picturesque c.1860.
The outing aims to acknowledge research done by Dr Hans Fransen while curator at Stellenbosch Museum.
This is a morning only outing as July cannot be relied upon for picnicking, but if anyone wants to stay on, there are several good coffee shops and restaurants in the vicinity.

Take the N1 towards Paarl
Take EXIT 39 / R304 off the N1 (Klipheuwel Rd / Stellenbosch).
At the exit turn-off, turn RIGHT into the R304 in the direction of Stellenbosch
Proceed straight along the R304 into Stellenbosch (R304 becomesBird Street)
Proceed STRAIGHT at traffic lights on Adam Tas Street(Mercedes-Benz dealership on right hand corner)
Proceed STRAIGHT at traffic lights on Merriman Road (Caltex Petrol Station on right hand corner)
Proceed STRAIGHT at first traffic circle (Dros Restaurant on right hand corner)
Turn LEFT at second traffic circle intoPlein Street(Post office on left hand corner)
Proceed STRAIGHT pastRyneveld Street

Take the N2 towards Somerset West.
Take EXIT 33 / R310 off the N2 (Baden Powell Dr / Stellenbosch)
At the top of the exit ramp , turn LEFT into the R310 in the direction of Stellenbosch
Continue STRAIGHT on the R310 past Spier Estate
At T-junction turn RIGHT intoR310 Polkadraai Road(Polkadraai RoadbecomesAdam Tas Road)
Coming into Stellenbosch turn right intoDorp Streetat traffic lights (Shell Petrol Station on right hand corner)
